Painting (oils, watercolor, acrylics and plein air)
Von grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Her dad drove semis all his life while her
mom enjoyed waitressing at an area supper club and then became a full-time live-in
caretaker for a wheelchair-bound lady. Von enjoyed the working of numbers, yet
would gravitate to the arts: knitting when she was 9, learned crochet from a teacher
in 7th grade, but her art, lettering and calligraphy was something that brought her joy!
Von completed her Marketing BS degree from Lakeland College in Wisconsin. She
always had art projects to delve into such as oil painting, watercolor, acrylics and
most recently, Plein-Air painting! She started a non-profit making wheelchair quilts
that have been sent across the USA, England and Peru!
Von has also ventured into the mural art scene with paintings thru-out Wisconsin
(and also in Virginia and Hawaii when she was serving in the USArmy). Some
Wisconsin locations are Markesan, Beaver Dam, Sturgeon Bay, Wabeno, and Carter.
